About Notts TV

Notts TV transmits on Freeview Channel 8 and Virgin Channel 159 – seven days a week from 4pm to midnight. We plan to go on air earlier in the day when more programming becomes available.

The programmes are produced by a dedicated team set up to run the channel, by the Notts TV consortium companies, and by local producers.

The consortium running Notts TV is the Nottingham Post, Nottingham Trent University, Confetti Media Group and Inclusive Digital.

Editorial Approach

Notts TV aims to produce quality content that is directly relevant to the people who live, work and study in Nottingham and surrounding areas.

Notts TV News has a broad agenda, covering politics, business, sport, consumer news, the arts, weather and travel.

The daily news programmes and the 6.30 Show are produced by a team of Notts TV video journalists, and are broadcast from a studio at Nottingham Trent University.

Our general programming includes:

  • Arts programmes, including Noise Floor (Confetti Media Group)
  • The Boot Room (Confetti Media Group)
  • The Channel 8 Debate (Confetti Media Group)
  • Nottingham Now and Then (Inclusive Digital)
  • Day in the Life documentaries (Inclusive Digital)
  • The Local Kitchen and The Working Week
  • Coverage of Nottingham concerts and other events.

Notts TV also broadcasts relevant content from other Local TV channels in the UK. The channel carries advertising and sponsorship, and may transmit, in non-peak hours, teleshopping.
